Aaron first laid eyes and ears on an upright bass at 14 years old when attending a small town symphony concert. “I just knew that was the instrument I needed to play,” he said. After testing the double bass waters with years of lessons on a fiberglass rental, proving his commitment and skill, he upgraded to one that could reciprocate his devotion. While in High School, Aaron began playing professionally around the greater Wenatchee valley and was chosen as the bassist for the All-State Jazz Band. While studying jazz performance at Whitworth University, Aaron toured Hawaii, Brazil, and Italy with the jazz band, and also began performing and touring with fellow student and folk-pop artist, Beth Whitney. Aaron started young as a drummer so his rhythms are steady, soulful, and sometimes downright funky. His bass tones have been favored by Northwest producers for recordings with artists such as Lauren Lee, Beth Whitney, Andrew T. Miller, and Lanae Hale. He is notably versatile, as few players can jump from Jazz to Indie Pop with such ease.
